FACT SHEET: World Leaders Launch a Landmark India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor

Today, we the leaders of the United States, India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Italy and the European Union introduced a Memorandum of Understanding committing to work collectively to develop a new India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor. Announced on the G20 Leaders’ occasion on the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment, this landmark hall is predicted to stimulate financial improvement by enhanced connectivity and financial integration throughout two continents, thus unlocking sustainable and inclusive financial development.  

Through the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, we purpose to usher in a new period of connectivity with a railway, linked by ports connecting Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The United States and our companions intend to link each continents to business hubs and facilitate the event and export of unpolluted power; lay undersea cables and link power grids and telecommunication traces to broaden dependable entry to electrical energy; allow innovation of superior clear power know-how; and join communities to safe and secure Internet. Across the hall, we envision driving current commerce and manufacturing and strengthening meals safety and provide chains. Our strategy goals to unlock new investments from companions, together with the personal sector, and spur the creation of high quality jobs.
