Mr Thomas reported the incident to Amazon who issued the father-of-two an apology.

The agency has launched an investigation into the incident and likewise provided Mr Thomas a £20 reimbursement and a £25 reward card as a goodwill gesture.

While proud of their response, Mr Thomas, a binman, says it has put him off ordering from Amazon once more in case the driver returns.
