Merseyrail services have been disrupted after a trespasser was pursued by police.
Train services on the northern line have been disrupted attributable to an individual being on the road close to Liverpool Central. Merseyrail stated the trespasser was being pursued by police.
Train services to Headbolt Lane have been delayed in addition to prepare services to Hunts Cross. Services to Ormskirk have been additionally cancelled or delayed, Merseyrail stated. Trains to Southport have been delayed because of the incident.

It is known services on northern traces returned to regular at 8.30am. In a reply to Merseyrail on X, previously generally known as Twitter, one eyewitness stated they noticed an individual attempting to leap the road, take their garments off and run down the tracks.
Merseyrail apologised to the eyewitness and stated: “I’m sorry this had to be witnessed. Unfortunately, situations like this do occur and we try to respond and resolve these incidents as quickly and safely as possible.”
