The Dutch practice operator warned of delays throughout the Netherlands as practice service to and from Amsterdam, the capital, was canceled for a second day on Monday.
ProfessionalRail, the federal government company answerable for sustaining the railways, cited issues with the system used to monitor and management trains, which first surfaced on Sunday afternoon. All service was canceled, and ProfessionalRail advised clients that it had restarted the system and hoped to restore service by the top of the day.
But by late Sunday night time, the problem, referred to as an IT downside stopping the monitoring of trains, had popped up once more, and repair was canceled for a second day.
“No trains are running to and from Amsterdam this morning either,” ProfessionalRail stated early Monday morning. “The advice to these travelers is to arrange alternative transport for the journey to school or work or, for example, to work at home.”
Service to Schiphol airport, considered one of Europe’s busiest, was canceled, and a Harry Styles live performance on Sunday in Amsterdam was delayed due to the malfunctions. Nederlandse Spoorwegen, the principle passenger rail operator, urged vacationers not to come to Amsterdam on Monday and to do business from home.
