At least twelve folks have been killed and dozens extra are injured after being “smothered” throughout a stampede at a football stadium in El Salvador.
The chaos unfolded as supporters pushed by way of one of many entry gates at the Monumental venue in Cuscatlan, round 25 miles northeast of the capital San Salvador.
It was internet hosting a match between golf equipment Alianza FC and Club Deportivo FAS in the quarter-finals of the nation’s premier division.

El Salvador President Nayib Bukele stated the National Civil Police and the Attorney General’s Office would conduct a “thorough investigation” into the occasions at the stadium.
“Everyone will be investigated: teams, managers, stadium, box office, league, federation, etc. Whoever the culprits are, they will not go unpunished,” Bukele wrote on Twitter.
