The courtroom heard Rowlands had been invited to a caravan with two of her mates as respite from caring for her youngest son, who is disabled and requires 24-hour care.

Rowlands told the courtroom: ‘The plan was simply to go out, have amusing, let our hair down and get pleasure from ourselves. We went to the caravan, had just a few cans, washed our hair and bought all dressed up.’
