Fisker files for bankruptcy after rescue talks collapsed

Fisker has filed for bankruptcy, bringing an finish to months of makes an attempt to rescue the American electrical automotive maker.

The agency raised considerations over its potential to proceed operations in February, having misplaced $463.6m throughout the fourth quarter of 2023.

In March, it paused manufacturing of its Ocean SUV and halted improvement of the smaller Pear hatchback whereas it sought a rescue take care of a “large auto maker”.

Talks with that producer, extensively understood to have been Nissan, collapsed. The deal would have given Fisker a $400m money injection in change for entry to the platform underpinning its deliberate Alaska pick-up truck.

Fisker slashed costs for its current inventory of Oceans following the tip of talks, because it sought to lift fast money and delay its operations.
