Fox News-Dominion Defamation Trial Delayed By Judge

The trial for Dominion Voting Systems’s $1.6 billion swimsuit in opposition to Fox News has been postponed by a day, a Delaware choose introduced Sunday night time.

“The Court has decided to continue the start of the trial, including jury selection, until Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.,” Judge Eric Davis stated. “I will make such an announcement tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. in Courtroom 7E.”

The blockbuster trial, which was set to start out on Monday, was delayed amid reporting that the cable information large made a late push to settle the defamation case.

The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that Fox, which has made makes an attempt at a settlement earlier than, was making a remaining push to keep away from a weeks-long trial that would see its high hosts and leaders, together with 92-year-old Rupert Murdoch, take the witness stand.

News that the trial was pushed again sparked hypothesis on Twitter that last-minute settlement talks are underway. Legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin famous: “These kind of delays often happen when civil cases are about to settle.”
