Luton community speaks of play-off final fever ahead of Wembley match

Excitement is constructing on the streets of Luton because the city’s soccer membership goals of a return to the top-flight for the primary time since 1992. “It means every thing,” says Sam Baines, a fellow enterprise proprietor.

“I Love Luton, love the soccer, the individuals, it might be superb if we win, Luton simply deserves it.”

Iky Khan, a drummer with Dhols Royce, took to the streets of Bury Park to play a spontaneous avenue gig after the membership beat Sunderland within the semi-final.

“For 35 years being born and bred in Luton, it is an excellent feeling. Not just for the soccer aspect – for the community, for the city itself,” he says.

His group was because of play to the group as they set off for Wembley and have plans for after the match.

“Seeing them off with our drums, giving them our well-wishes. If they win, there’s gonna be an enormous social gathering, hopefully.”

Najam Wahid, a fellow drummer for Dhols Royce, is a Manchester United fan, but when Luton will get into the Premier League he says he’ll help them and go to as many video games as he can.

When they gained the play-off semi-final “I used to be over the moon”, he says.

“It’s been an extended, very long time for Luton to do it – however for Luton to return by way of the league, it is nice.

“I reckon Luton should do it, 2-0.”
