ZERO per cent beers are likely to be made stronger to strive to convert more drinkers to more healthy alternate options.
Ministers need to bump up the authorized restrict for an alcohol-free tipple from 0.05 per cent ABV to 0.5 per cent.
They say it would match requirements in Europe and the US, boosting the market and giving drinkers more choices.
Brewers say they’ll get nearer to the style of traditional booze with the additional leeway.
Rob Fink, of Big Drop Brewing, stated: “0.5 per cent may only be a trace of alcohol but it makes all the difference to taste.”
The marketplace for low-alcohol drinks is booming — three in ten of us purchase them semi-regularly.
Studies have discovered no or low- alcohol variations slash the harm booze inflicts on the physique.

Others stated the 538ml dimension permits room for the foamy head.
But one other drinker added: “Marked pint glasses have a line at 568ml with space for the head to sit atop.”
Guinness didn’t remark however an insider stated the cans would fill a pint glass after the “surge and settle”.
