Moment Keir blasts Rishi’s retirement tax promise a ‘desperate gimmick’
RISHI Sunak tonight accused Sir Keir Starmer of plotting a tax seize on pensioners throughout heated debate clashes.
The PM took a swing at his No10 rival for failing to match his pledge to take away the levy on state pensions – branding it a “retirement tax”.
The Tories have vowed to implement a “triple lock plus” whereby pensioners would keep away from paying earnings tax.
Facing off along with his Labour rival, Mr Sunak stated: “Under you, there’s a retirement tax coming for Britain’s pensioners. I think that’s appalling.”
Biting again, Sir Keir branded Mr Sunak “Britain’s expert of raising taxes” and referred to as his assaults a “desperate gimmick”.
Mr Sunak is determined to claw again floor within the polls which at present have Sir Keir on track to storm into Downing Street on July 5.
