The National Lottery says it’s investigating after customers reported being unable to entry its app and website.

Both its website and app seemed to be offline at the moment – a day after the worldwide IT outage led to widespread disruption at airports, companies, the NHS and broadcasters.

Downdetector acquired 1000’s of reviews of outages starting round 8.30pm on Friday night time.

It is unclear if the problems going through the lottery are related to Friday’s outage.

In a put up on X, the National Lottery stated: “We are conscious that some gamers are having points accessing our website and app.

“Apologies for the inconvenience, our team are currently investigating the issue to find out what has happened.”

The world IT outage that started on Friday morning was attributable to an replace from world cybersecurity agency Crowdstrike, which knocked many Windows PCs offline with a “blue screen of death” showing on displays.

The firm’s founder later confirmed it was attributable to a bug within the replace and not a cyber assault, as some had feared.

George Kurtz stated a repair had been rolled out, however it could be “some time” earlier than all techniques returned. An trade skilled warned it may take “weeks” for a full restoration.
