Norwich to Cambridge railway lines blocked due to lightning

Greater Anglia posted on X, previously Twitter, that the signalling system at Harling Road, between Attleborough and Thetford, has been broken by lightning.

Major disruption is predicted till additional discover and it has affected “multiple level crossings and axle counters”.

Greater Anglia is urging prospects not to journey between Norwich and Cambridge through Thetford and Ely.

No substitute buses can be found due to engineering works on different elements of the community.

Cambridge to Norwich

1. Board the xx:45 to Ipswich and journey to Stowmarket (59-minute journey time)

2. Change at Stowmarket for the xx:48 to Norwich (29-minute journey time)

Norwich to Cambridge

1. Board the xx:00 to Witham and journey to Stowmarket (29-minute journey time)

2. Change at Stowmarket for the xx:34 to Cambridge (64-minute journey time)
