After a catastrophic hearth in 2019, the Notre Dame Cathedral in France hosted its first Mass on Sunday, filling the area with a crowd for the first time in almost 5 years.
The first Mass was “a moment that transcended religious significance to become a powerful symbol of Paris’ resilience,” the Associated Press (AP) reported.
The ceremony befell inside the cathedral with conventional chandeliers above, showcasing the spectacular stonework, restored limestone and stained-glass home windows.

The celebration of the reopening of the church is not going to finish with the Mass.

The archbishop introduced that an “octave” of celebrations, eight days of spiritual companies, will happen till Dec. 15.

“The Sunday Masses underscore Notre Dame’s dual role as a place of worship and a symbol of communal resilience,” the AP wrote.
