Police make arrests in Blackpool after reports of two men on roof throwing slates down
Police arrived on the scene on Lytham Road at 4.24pm yesterday (Saturday May 6), after reports that the two men have been throwing tiles off the roof.
Officers managed to get one of the men, a 23 12 months previous, off the roof at 5.15pm.
However, police spent round six hours negotiating with the second man, who was lastly introduced down by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service at round 10.21pm.
The 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of legal harm to a property, affray and assaulting a police officer.

A Lancashire Police spokesman stated: “We have been referred to as at 4.24pm yesterday (May 6) to Lytham Road, Blackpool, to a report of two men being on the roof of a property.
“The men have been throwing tiles off the roof to the bottom, and a cordon was put in place for the security of the general public.
“One of the offenders was taken off the roof at roughly 5.15pm. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and is at present in custody.
“The incident continued with the second man, with negotiations happening over a number of hours.
“He was introduced down off the roof by the Lancashire Fire and Rescue service at roughly 10.21pm.
“A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of legal harm to a property, affray and assaulting a police officer.
“During the incident, a 36-year-old lady and two juveniles have been arrested on suspicion of assaulting law enforcement officials on the cordon positioned across the scene.
“They are at present in custody.”
Chief Inspector Dave Hannan of Blackpool Police, stated: “This was a difficult scenario and our precedence all through was the security of the general public in the world and the security of the two men on the roof.
“Significant harm was triggered to the constructing.
“A quantity of law enforcement officials have been concerned in managing the scene and bringing the incident to a secure conclusion by expert negotiations.
“We thank the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service for his or her help.”
