Power outage sees almost 7,000 properties in New Ash Green and Hartley without electricity due to cabling fault

Thousands of houses misplaced energy this morning after a high-voltage underground cable developed a fault.

UK Power Networks stated almost 7,000 properties misplaced energy throughout 19 postcodes in the New Ash Green, Hartley and Fawkham areas simply after 9.30am this morning.

Engineers have been working to restore provide and have introduced houses again onto the grid in phases by diverting energy from different sources,

Currrently there are 258 houses nonetheless without electricity.

The firm hopes to have the facility again to everybody by 1pm.

Repair of the defective cable is probably going to take for much longer.
