Russian deputy defence minister Timur Vadimovich Ivanov arrested on suspicion of taking bribes
Mr Ivanov is underneath sanction from the European Union because the defence ministry’s prime official in cost of development of navy amenities.
He was the topic of an investigation printed in 2022 by the banned Anti-Corruption Foundation, which was created by the late opposition chief Alexei Navalny.
It mentioned that the deputy minister oversaw – and profited from – development initiatives in Ukraine’s Mariupol, which fell underneath Moscow’s management after a months-long siege.
