TUI flight from Tunisia to Newcastle diverts to Manchester

The TUI flight, codenamed TOM589, took off from the Tunisian airport of Enfidha shortly earlier than 12.20pm native time headed for Newcastle Airport.

The airplane continued its journey as regular and started its descent prepared to land at Newcastle Airport round three hours later.

But the Boeing 737 then circled over County Durham earlier than diverting to Manchester Airport.

TUI mentioned the diversion was due to “unfavourable” climate situations, though the flight was the one one to divert from Newcastle on Friday.

A spokesperson for the airline mentioned: “We’d like to apologise to prospects on flight TOM589 who have been delayed getting dwelling from Tunisia due to unfavourable climate situations at Newcastle Airport.

“The flight was diverted into Manchester, the place it refuelled, earlier than returning to Newcastle when the climate cleared.

It comes days after an AerLingus flight from Dublin to Newcastle had to return to the Irish capital after struggling a technical difficulty.
