China and Russia blocked a U.S. decision for a cease-fire in Gaza on the United Nations Security Council.

The United States put ahead a decision in good religion after consulting with all council members and after a number of rounds of edits. The overwhelming majority of this council voted in favor of this decision. But sadly, Russia and China determined to train its veto. The United States will hold at it. We’ll proceed to work towards a deal alongside Qatar and Egypt, and we’ll work with any council member that’s critically interested by adopting a decision that can assist make that deal doable.
