Wrestlers protesting against WFI chief met Amit Shah, say ‘didn’t get the reaction we wanted’

The assembly was held late on Saturday at Amit Shah’s residence in Delhi and went on until late that night time, as the wrestlers raised their demand for Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan’s arrest.

“We didn’t get the reaction we wished from the Home Minister so we got here out of the assembly. We are chalking out our technique for the future course of the protest. We is not going to again down,” Kadian mentioned, as he intimated that the wrestlers are planning their subsequent plan of action.

The assembly was held days after the protesting wrestlers went to Haridwar to immerse their medals in the Ganga, however have been stopped by farmers’ chief Naresh Tikait. Their return was adopted by an ultimatum to the authorities demanding the arrest of BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s arrest earlier than June 9.

The wrestlers additionally met with sports activities minister Anurag Thakur earlier than assembly Amit Shah. Thakur promised a “fair probe into their allegations”.

Wrestlers have been protesting against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, alleging he sexually harassed ladies grapplers, together with a minor. So far, two FIRs have been lodged against Brij Bhushan, and he has been booked below the Pocso act.
